Our Story
Currently owned by the Anglican Diocese of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, St. John’s Preparatory School was founded by the Rev. L.B. Harrison in 1960. Starting with only ten students, we currently have a student body of over two hundred children. These children come from a variety of communities such as Fern Grove, Buckfield, St. Ann’s Bay, Claremont, Moneague, Boscobel and Runaway Bay. The well ventilated and spacious school grounds are built on three-quarter acres of land. This land was donated very graciously by Lt. Colonel Robinson.
The Staff
The school is governed by a board, with the chairman being the Rector of the St. John’s Anglican Church. We have an academic staff of fifteen, along with numerous support staff. We follow the National Curriculum, and our students sit all the external examinations set by the Ministry of Education. We pride ourselves on maintaining an excellent academic track record.
